What is Slackpacking?

Spekboom Tours has recently introduced a series of three to four day guided/and self-guided “slackpacking” luxury hikes in the beautiful KZN Midlands, Ukhahlamba Drakensberg and Clarens. These slackpacks come fully inclusive offering comfortable country accommodation, luggage transfers and delectable catering. From the cultural treasures of world-famous San art paintings in the Free-State to meandering through the most scenic and biodiverse parts of the KZN midlands and the Southern Berg, these slackpacks cater for all interest and fitness levels. With access to private land, nature reserves and knowledgeable guides, these hikes are made available to people who would not normally have access to these special places.
