One of South Africa’s most iconic motoring events is reaching a remarkable milestone this year. The Vintage Sports Car Club Standard Bank Cars in the Park 2026 will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Sunday, 31 May 2026, Race Coast, Ashburton Training Centre in Pietermaritzburg.
Recognised as South Africa’s oldest car showcase, Cars in the Park has been bringing together motoring enthusiasts for half a century. This landmark anniversary event promises an unforgettable day celebrating automotive heritage, craftsmanship and community.
A Spectacular Showcase of Motoring History
Hosted by the Vintage Sports Car Club and proudly supported by title sponsor Standard Bank, Cars in the Park remains the flagship event on the club’s calendar and one of KwaZulu-Natal’s most anticipated motoring gatherings.
Each year the event attracts over 10,000 visitors, who come to admire an incredible display of vehicles spanning generations. From beautifully restored vintage classics and collector’s cars to high-performance sports cars, motorcycles and unique custom builds, Cars in the Park offers a fascinating journey through the evolution of motoring.
To mark the 50th anniversary, visitors can look forward to an even bigger and more diverse showcase of vehicles celebrating the rich motoring heritage that has defined this event for five decades.
A Fantastic Day Out for the Whole Family
Cars in the Park offers far more than just incredible vehicles. The event provides a vibrant festival atmosphere with something for the entire family to enjoy.
Visitors can browse a lively flea market, enjoy a wide selection of food stalls, and soak up the atmosphere with live music throughout the day. There will also be entertainment for children, ensuring younger visitors have plenty to keep them busy while parents explore the extensive vehicle displays.
Gates open at 7:00am, with the event running through to 4:00pm, giving visitors a full day to experience everything on offer.
