Dlinza Forest Aerial Boardwalk

Just an hour from Ballito, and one-and-a-half from Durban, great for a day trip, the Dlinza Forest Aerial Boardwalk offers a magical experience. Situated in the centre of charming Eshowe, it’s the only town in SA that boasts this fact! The non-profit organisation, Dlinza Forest Aerial Boardwalk, which partners Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, was birthed by the idea of constructing a boardwalk in the Dlinza Forest.
The meandering 125m wooden boardwalk, 10m high and under the tree canopy, ends in the 20m high observation platform with spectacular views overlooking the 250-hectare indigenous forest. Two marked trials, the Impunzi and the Unkonka, 1.3 and 1.8km long are an easy walk where the abundant bird life, huge forest giants, beautiful butterflies or fascinating fungi can be enjoyed. 65 bird species can be heard and seen, including the rare Spotted Ground Thrush, Eastern Bronze-naped Pigeon and Narina Trogan. Often whilst walking the trails one can see the blue duiker and on misty days the bushbuck often head up past the Visitors Centre.

Pack a picnic or grab a snack from the Visitor Centre and enjoy one of six secluded picnic spots close to safe parking. Books, interesting curios, and refreshments are on sale.
